My First Tony Robbins Experience

This past weekend was my birthday and I decided that this year I was going to spend it entirely immersed in growth and learning from the one and only, Tony Robbins. The event that I attended is called Unleash the Power Within. This event was virtual, but let me tell you, it didn't feel like it at all! The energy was so high and you could sense the positive vibrations from the computer screen. It was unbelievable.

Before I go into my key takeaways and how much I absolutely obsessed over the event, I will tell you that it has been a dream of mine to attend one of Tony’s events for a couple of years now. My goal and aspiration is to be a life coach, a female version of Tony Robbins, so it was only fitting that I attend at least one of his conferences. For those of you who don’t know, these conferences are very intense and very engaging. When I say intense, I mean, every single attendee was now on Tony Time, as they say. No one knew when breaks were happening or even IF they were happening. The shortest day out of the total 4 day conference was 13 hours, started as early as 6AM PT. Intense, right?! I was so exhausted at the end of each day I would literally pass out within an hour after each day ended. Getting up early was a struggle and staying awake was sometimes a challenge, but guess what…

ATTENDING WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS I HAVE EVER MADE.

UPW (Unleash the Power Within), made me laugh, cry, pick my nose (yes, literally for an exercise) and even break a wooden board with my bear hand! I’m not kidding guys! Seriously, I don’t think I have ever claimed to have a favorite weekend/birthday until now. This weekend was truly life changing.

Ok, I’ll stop now, even though I am still on cloud nine. I want to give credit where it is due. Tony Robbins, is single-handedly, one of the most generous, intelligent, kind hearted human beings on the planet. He has dedicated his life to serving others, despite his tough upbringing and challenges, and has beat the odds in almost every single way. If he ever were to read this I would hope he knows that he is admired and appreciated for giving such a precious gift to the world.

You’re amazing TONY ROBBINS!

That being said, here are my key takeaways from UPW:

  • “It’s not where you start, it’s where you end up.” I think this was so important for me to hear, as I have allowed my past to define me and my future.

  • “It’s not a lack of resources, but a lack of resourcefulness.” I am a culprit of this too, but I see so many people blaming their failures on lack of resources, when in reality, they just didn’t take the time to become/utilize resourcefulness

  • “Your destiny is shaped by your decisions, not your conditions.” This was huge for me. It took me awhile to step out of that victim mentality, putting blame on external circumstances instead if taking responsibility for myself and my life

  • “Repitition is the mother of mastery.” As I try to build better habits, I have to keep reminding myself that mastering these habits requires repetition.

  • “The moment you trade your expectation for appreciation, is the moment your life will change.” Probably my favorite Tony quote, which embodies the practice of gratitude.

I learned so much more than I could ever type here, but these were some key learnings that really stuck with me. I’m learning again and again that mindset is literally EVERYTHING. The fact that I could break a wooden board with my bear hand, or take a 6 minute cold shower (yes, I’ve been applying what I learned and am finally onboard with cold immersion!) tells me that I am way stronger than I think I am.

GUESS WHAT? SO ARE YOU.

It’s amazing what we can do once we start changing our beliefs.

As much as I obsess and rave about Tony and everything I am learning, I think what matters most here is our journeys. The process of becoming the best version of ourselves. Whatever you’re doing now, including reading this, I want you to know I am SO proud of you! Each day is a gift and I admire those who use that gift to grow and serve.

Obviously, if you ever have the time and resources to attend a Tony Robbins conference (UPW, Date with Destiny, Mastery Classes) I would HIGHLY recommend you do so. If not, and you want to check out who he is and why he is one of the most influential human beings in the world, go watch “I Am Not Your Guru” on Netlfix. This was the first piece of content I watched before truly knowing who he was.

After this weekend I feel more energized and inspired than ever and I hope to continue to be a light and example to you all.

Much love.
